CASE STUDIES
Lars Rahmquist B.V.Sc, M.R.C.V.S. (Head clinician and surgeon, VIP)

We have seen a number of interesting cases over the last year at VIP. In this series we will look to present them to you in an interesting and understandable forum.

Surgical cases come with exciting X-rays and gory photos and they tend to capture the interest of most people because of it. Surgery, however is only physical reparation of injuries. It is medical cases which are usually much more involved and difficult. It is also the medical cases which can often more likely to educate the reader in disease understanding and detection. Hopefully this can help the reader in disease prevention and recognise any early signs of diseases.

We will present the cases anonymously unless they are strays. We do a lot of stray work with the charity organisations helping to cover our costs. Some of the animals that the stories are about still don't have homes. If you read one that captures your heart and you wish to know more or would consider taking them on, let us know.

Some of the photos are surgical and may be a bit much for the squeamish. But nothing you will see here is anywhere near as bad as what you see on CSI Miami. Or the channel 4 news, for that matter.
