PET PASSPORT SCHEME – STEP BY STEP PROCESS

1. Microchip - all dogs/cats will need to be microchipped before any of the
following can start.

2. Vaccinations – animals will need to have their vaccinations up to date, most important of which is the rabies vaccination .

3. Rabies Titre Test – A small sample of blood is taken and sent to a Laboratory in the UK to show that the animals have built up the correct levels of Rabies antibodies. This should be 2 – 3 weeks after the last rabies vaccination.

4. Pet Passport - Once the blood has been processed and we have recieved conformation of correct antibody levels, we can issue the Pet Passport.

5. Six Month Wait - Unfortunately now the wait comes! Once the passport has been issued and all is correct - animals will be allowed to enter the UK and Ireland, SIX MONTHS AFTER DATE OF BLOOD SAMPLING (i.e. date of step 3!)

6. Visit to the Vet – You must visit the vet with you animals 24 – 48 hours prior to your time of check in. The vet will administer a worm and tick treatment and stamp, sign and date your passport.

Safe Travels!
